Lewis Hine was a great American photographer. His photography is so powerful it changed the world and completely reformed child labor laws. His legacy cannot be measured. His photos are on exhibit at George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY.
Wilke-Barre was at the center of the child labor uproar that spread across America. The shame and outrage brought about child labor laws and worker's rights. The photos of Lewis Hine reveal the injustice of corporate abuse in conditions in the anthracite coal industry.
